I believe everyone should feel good in their homes...it's our haven, the place where we can relax and be ourselves. Investing in your home is never a waste and with my help you will go from doubting your design decisions and feeling overwhelmed by too much choice to having a beautiful, unique home that you love and feel proud of. My Home Design Blueprint is perfect if you have the time and the confidence to carry out the project yourself but need a step by step plan to get started.
How It Works
Step 1
My process begins with finding out what your goals are for your home and understanding your personal preferences (as well as those of anyone living with you). During our first meeting we’ll identify how you want your home to look and also how you'd like it to feel and function.
Through the creative process I use you'll start to understand what your style is, what you like and don't like and, just as important, what will work in your home. No more overwhelm or expensive shopping mistakes. Before you start making any purchases, you'll know exactly what will work and why.
Step 2
Proper space planning makes a HUGE difference to where you live just as much, if not more than the colours of the walls. It's incredibly important to utilise the space you have in the best and most practical and stylish way possible. We’ll look at your existing furniture and how best to position it. I’ll also make suggestions for any additional pieces that would improve the room.
Knowing exactly what size furniture will work, being clear on where to position lighting and having confidence that you’re not going to end up sitting too close to the TV or that there will be enough room for that storage you desperately need - this will ultimately save time, money, and a great deal of stress. Your project will run more smoothly, and you’ll be confident that you’re going to end up with a home that functions perfectly for your needs.
As part of your Design Blueprint, you will receive to-scale layout drawings with recommendations for furniture and lighting positions, as well as measurements to enable you to choose exactly the right size furniture to suit the space.
Step 3
Practical suggestions and guidance will be given on the key areas such as type of furniture, window treatments, lighting and flooring, tailored to your specific needs.
Alongside this, a bespoke colour palette will be created that complements existing furniture and finishes as well as any new furniture that has been suggested. Consideration will be given to other spaces in your home to ensure new colours harmonise and help to create a sense of flow throughout.
Step 4
This is the exciting part! Having got to know your style and understood how the space needs to work for you, your Design Blueprint will be presented to you in your home using a range of mood boards and material boards to help you visualise the designs.
2D layouts will show furniture and lighting placement. Curated colour schemes will provide you with a clear colour plan, detailing colours and finishes on walls, woodwork and ceiling. Recommendations for size, shape and style of furniture that work perfectly in the scheme and within your budget will ensure you’re clear on what you need to buy to achieve your design.
Finally...
You'll receive a range of my handy guides to refer to throughout your project, including the following:
Order of Work in Your Renovation Project
How to Determine the Exact Placement of Lighting in Your Room
My Golden Rules for Accessorising
How to Hang Artwork Like a Pro
This Blueprint will be sent to you by email after our final meeting - giving you a clear, easy-to-use toolkit, which will lead the direction of your design and provide a visual reference as you embark on your project.

" My living room used to be a room that was so very bland - and I really didn't like being in it at all. I hadn't got a clue where to start with decorating it. Then along came Kate and she helped to transform it into a room that I love and love being in. "
